Street-Style Carne Asada Tacos with AEVO Avocado Oil

Ingredients:-

  • 1 lb skirt or flank steak
  • 3 tbsp AEVO Organic Extra Virgin Avocado Oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jalapeño, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Corn tortillas
  • Diced onions, chopped cilantro, lime wedges, and salsa for serving

Instructions:

1. Marinate the Steak:-

  • In a bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of AEVO Avocado Oil, lime juice, orange juice, minced garlic, minced jalapeño, chopped cilantro, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

2. Grill the Steak:-

  • Preheat your grill to high heat.
  • Remove the steak from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels.
  • Grill the steak for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the cooking time to your preferred level of doneness.
  • Once cooked, transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.

3. Warm the Tortillas:-

  • While the steak is resting, warm the corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side until they are soft and pliable.

4. Assemble the Tacos:-

  • Fill each tortilla with slices of grilled steak.
  • Top with diced onions, chopped cilantro, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
  • Serve with your favorite salsa on the side.
